In basic terms there are three general states of awareness that a person can live from. There is havingness, doingness, and beingness.

At lower levels of consciousness the spiritual energy is dominant in the lower chakras. There isn’t the security of a fully activated energy body and so there is an underlying insecurity that colours the concept of survival in one’s experience. They will feel unfulfilled within and out of that lack of spiritual fulfillment emerges the desire to have. One’s perception is limited to what is ‘without’ Self Love and they become consumed with ‘getting’ what appears to be outside of themselves as a pathway of empowerment. This level of awareness is ‘havingness.’

The consequence of havingness — as a level of consciousnessis feelings of constant struggle and lack. The ego is rampantly dominant and so one’s mind becomes hypnotized by the world of form. They can’t see anything else so they see appearance as a source of power and their attention is narrowed to constantly taking a mental inventory of what they, and others, do and don’t have. One’s personal will becomes obsessed with acquisition. It never dawns on them that it isn’t ‘things’ that they truly want, but rather that they are trying to fulfill a deep insecurity by chasing what they think those things mean to them.

As the spiritual energy moves up the chakra system it begins to activate new energy centres. One begins to intuit that their sense of security stems from within however their mental patterns will resist their feelings. As the energy continues to rise the activity of the mind becomes easier to surrender due to empowerment via their inner feeling connection to life. By virtue of mind activity falling away there is enough space opened within to realize their ability to become introspective and self-reflective. The awareness has expanded and so it is becoming easier to observe how the mind can be hypnotized into belief systems that limit one’s reality. One’s perception starts to include what is ‘within’ as well as ‘without’ on an experiential level and a rising inner-security — that is attributed to an uplifted energy body — is what gives them the courage to pursue this new perception as a pathway of empowerment. This level of awareness is ‘doingness.’

The consequence of doingness — as a level of consciousness — is feelings of personal empowerment. There is a rising awareness that there are universal laws at play and the personal self becomes attracted to knowledge about that as it see’s such knowledge as a resource that can enhance their ability to do in this world. If the kundalini remains in the solar plexus they will be driven to acquire knowledge for the purpose of satiating the desires of the personal [ego] self. As a consequence inner world struggle remains as an experiential reality, although their outer world seems more favourable in conditions, due to ignorance of one’s True Self. It isn’t until the kundalini reaches the heart chakra that motives of the personal self are seen for what they are; desires that emerge from a deeper lack of fulfilling one’s sense of True Self.

As the spiritual energy proceeds through the heart chakra and beyond there is a comprehension of life’s spiritual nature at a deeper level. The kundalini is fulfilling the majority of the chakras throughout one’s energy body and as a consequence the expansion of one’s energy field manifests as a deep sense of security and a more whole sense of Self. The mind becomes quiet enough to now witness life as it is, without projecting a perception of it, and so one can not help but accept everything that arises as beautiful and perfect. The kundalini now dominates the energy field which begins to permeate their sense of Self. One’s aura begins to embody the spiritual energy on a qualitative level and eventually there is no longer an identification with the personal self at all. The personal will is replaced by a spiritual will — from which all arises. This level of awareness is beingness.

The consequence of beingness is an overall grace that is difficult to define. As one continues to ascend levels of consciousness states of being arise for no ‘reason’ at all such as lovingness, joy, bliss…beyond that is indescribable really due to a more expansive unconditionality. One transcends the content of the mind as there is a Self-realization of being one with the mind of life. There is no mind to be used because there is no personal self to use it. One becomes universal mind by which all is, and so by virtue of the spiritual will whatever one may need arises naturally. It is apparent that out of the unmanifest arises the manifest, only to return to the unmanifest, and that this is the evolutionary process of consciousness so there is no thinking about doing anything to get anything. Life is so synchronistic as one feels the abundance of the universe as a quality of that which they are.

Of course, when the personal self is transcended one doesn’t need much. Ironically, that is what grants them access to everything. No ‘thing’ is resisted and so all things are possible. It’s amazing how little one wants or wants to do when they are truly fulfilled. Like the sun there is only God’s love that shines forth. At the end of the day enlightenment — or ultimate oneness — remains the intention as at these levels it is obvious that one’s true quality of life is a direct consequence of their consciousness.
